ID Badges

Key Partner:      Vanguard ID Systems

Our Teslin® products demonstrate superior field performance and durability over PCV cards. Teslin® is a micro-porous, highly filled polyolefin material that affords outstanding adhesive bond strength and thermal/chemical durability. The Teslin® sheet acts like a miniature bubble wrap, protecting the delicate RFID inlay. Independent laboratory studies commissioned by PPG showed that, as a result of this cushioning effect, a Teslin® sheet-based composite card lasts two to three times longer than a PVC card in ISO flexure tests. In addition, the inherent electrostatic dissipation character of Teslin® sheet reduces or eliminates potential damage to the RFID inlay from random static discharge, both during production and in actual use.

All of RFID ID Badges operate at high frequency (HF) 13.56 MHz or ultra-high frequency (UHF) 866-954 MHz. We utilize commercial RFID inlays or transponders from a variety of manufacturers. Our products feature HF 13.56 MHz ISO/IEC 14443A, 14443B, and 15693, as well as UHF 866-954 MHz ISO/IEC 18000-6C EPC Class 1 GEN 2, both far field and near field (NFC).

We work with all of the major RFID reader, silicon chip, and transponder manufacturers.

Teslin® beats PVC

Teslin® is unbelievably versatile and durable. Teslin®’s unique characteristics make it ideal for card because it is stronger and lasts longer than vinyl. In independent laboratory NCTIS 322 testing, Teslin® cards outlasted and outperformed PVC.

Teslin® Security-Grade Substrate

Teslin® Security-Grade substrates, building from inherent tamper-resistance and tamper-evidence benefits, advance the security features available in cards and documents while potentially reducing per unit construction costs and simplifying processing.

  • Security features are embedded within substrate during production, preventing them from being accessed or tampered with on the surface
  • Specific security requirements based on substrate features simplifies credential processing
  • Multiple features within substrate may eliminate need for additional covert and forensic elements
  • Pre-qualification of select overt features
  • Supply Chain Security
  • Sold under security contract
  • Raw materials, fabricated product, waste and trim are all secured
  • Produced to unique customer specifications

Applications

  • Security cards, credentials and documents
  • Secure RFID tags and labels for tracking, tracing and locating
  • Product brand authentication

Teslin® Security-Grade substrates are available in all standard thickness gauge materials from 6 mils/152 microns to 18 mils/457 microns.
