AARFID™ ware’s Read Point Management System (RPMS™) consists of a set of instructions governing how devices operate within the greater AARFID™ ware Automatic Identification Network (AIN). Some instructions are mandated by the assorted data collection technologies; some are mandated by AARFID™ ; and some are governed by the end user to meet specific application requirements.
Within RPMS™, databases of devices and their related implements are constructed and managed. Further, RPMS™ provides a means to automatically load software onto networked devices and computers. Devices include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Keyboards
- Bar Code Readers
- Magnetic Strip Readers
- RFID Readers
- Finger Print Scanners (Pending)
- Iris Scanners (Pending)
- Printers
- Handheld RFID Readers
- Magnetic Strip Readers
RPMS™ includes the AARFID™ Tag Reading Manager and the AARFID™ Tag Writing Manager. These sub modules enable 128 bit encryption and complex data compression algorithms needed for data storage and retrieval on tags. The heart of AARFID™ ’s anti-playback system is included with these modules.
RPMS™ offers a number of tag writing templates as well. Tag writing templates work out of the box with our encoding applications, but can be easily modified to meet customer specific needs.
Within RPMS™, we define how a read point will appear on AIN. We must give the read point an identity. Identities minimally consist of a name and an IP address. This identity is used for a number of operations including, but not limited to, tracking last known location or a person or asset, as well as simply identifying where transactions occur.
Interface to third party applications is also governed through XML interfaces that are available as part of this module. Point of Sale, Property Management Systems and others gain access to RPMS™ utilizing the XML interfaces. In this way, AARFID™ continues to manage AIN and the specific read points included, while at the same time is able to captures events not specifically related to the third party application.
When integrated with end user / consumer interface products such as photo processors, printers and industrial blenders, RPMS™ ensures product authentication, records maintenance records and provides consumer device interfacing. |
